Summary
Oil painting on canvas, King Charles II (1630-1685), studio of Sir Godfrey Kneller (Lübeck 1646/9 - London 1723). A version of Kneller's last portrait of Charles II which is in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. A full-length portrait, seated in robes wearing the Order of the Garter, his crown behind him to his left.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963
