Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Lady Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox, 16th Baroness Darcy of Nayth, Countess of Powis (1865-1929), by Mabel Emily Hankey (d.1943). c.1885-1890. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a young woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a white dress and pearl necklace. Hazel eyes, brown hair, aged about 25. Pale blue-white background. In a gilt frame encircled with pearls with name engraved on reverse.
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
