Oil painting on canvas, Edward Henry Howard, Cardinal Howard (1829-1892), (?) Italian school, 1878. A head and shoulders portrait of Edward Howard, turned three-quarters to right, facing, gazing at spectator, wearing Cardinal’s robes with gold pectoral cross; background of flowered wallpaper. He was the brother-in-law of Richard Myddelton Biddulph (1837- 1913). He was an officer in the Life Guards before he became priest in 1854; Cardinal-Bishop of Frascati from 1877. Another portrait is in Arundel Castle.
