Summary
Oil painting on panel, Prince Frederick Henry (1614-29), Crown Prince Palatine, aged 9, after Jan Anthonisz van Ravesteyn (The Hague c.1570 – The Hague 1669), inscribed at top 'FRIDERICUS. HENRICUS. BOHEMIAE. Princeps: etc. 'Ao 1623 AEtatis suae 9'. A three-quarter length portrait to right; as a child, wearing damascened armour and orange sash, lace collar and cuffs; his right hand on his hip, his left resting on his sword hilt, next to the table, on which are placed his gauntlets and an orange-plumed helmet. The unpublished original of this painting would appear to be the picture formerly in the private apartments of Kedleston and now in the Wardrobe.

In undated early 19th century Erddig inventory as; 'Frederick Prince of Bohemia' and thence by descent; In the late James Hutton's house in Park Lane, slae 27-28 July 1770 as; given by Philip Yorke III (1905 – 1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
