Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Barbara Wanley, Mrs Matthew Hutton (d.1750) of Newnham, Hertfordshire, by John Verelst (fl 1698 - London 1734), signed and dated 1715. A three-quarter length portrait of the mother of Dorothy Hutton, Mrs Philip Yorke, seated to right, in an architectural interior; a terrace seen through an archway at the left; she wears a yellow satin dress, a long cloak covering her head and shoulders to which she raises her hand.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905 – 1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
