Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Jack Henshaw (b.1731/2), Gamekeeper by John Walters of Denbigh (Welsh, fl. 1791-6), 1791. He is standing, full-length, against a tree, on the left, holding a long forked pole in his left hand, and a brace in his right hand. A hare lying to his right; two dogs. The house in the background is the home of Philip Yorke's second wife, Dyffryn Aled. Also a bogus (?) coat of arms with 3 blackbirds and chevron, motto.

Commissioned by Philip Yorke I (1743 - 1804) and thence by descent;given by Philip Yorke III (1905 – 1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
