Decorative fireplace and overmantel. The figurative alabaster overmantel depicts a scene from the story of Tobias and the angel. Square panels of blackstone and marble flank the fireplace and the overmantel and form a frieze between the two. On the central blackstone panel of the frieze, there can be seen the remains of monograms, thought to be those of Mary Queen of Scots, George and Elizabeth Shrewsbury. There is a later sandstone insert in which sits the cast iron grate.
