Summary
Two long cushion covers, with crimson satin decorated with strawberries and worms on the front, with pale blue silk damask decorated in China with a pattern of lotus flowers and foliage on the back and edged with fringed braid and tassels. Provenance
Originally part of a set of seven cushions, recorded in the Gallery at Hardwick Hall in the 1601 inventory; thence by descent at Hardwick; transferred to the National Trust by HM Treasury, 1984.
