Summary
Collage, frottage and pencil on cardboard, Loplop présente facilité (Facilty - Lolop Introduces) by Max Ernst, (Brühl 1891 – Paris 1976), 1931 A collage representing mother and child and child's skeleton with patch of blotting paper/automatic writing and patch of marbled paper and line drawings on substrate. Within a simple wooden frame, with bevelled edges angled inwards, glazed.
Provenance
Acquired in 1934 from Max Ernst by Ernö Goldfinger. Owned by Ernö Goldfinger and Ursula Ruth Blackwell, also known as Mrs Ernö Goldfinger. Purchased by the National Trust in 1994 with support from the Art Fund, and other charitable foundations and private donors.
