Summary
Oil painting on porcelain, The Reverend Frederick Emanuel Hippolyte Curzon (1795-1871) by William Corden I (Ashbourne 1795 – Nottingham 1867), circa 1820 A half-length portrait of a young man, turned slightly to right, gazing at the spectator, seated on sofa, his left arm leaning on the arm of the sofa. Pillar on pedestal on right. Fifth son of Nathaniel Curzon, second Lord Scarsdale, who was vicar of Mickleover for 51 years.
Provenance
Bought with part of the contents of Kedleston with the aid of the National Heritage Memorial Fund in 1987 when the house and park were given to the National Trust by Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000)
