Summary
A Midg No 1 Magazine camera. The body is wooden covered with black leather and the lens panel is protected by a hinged door. On the front is a metal disc showing ‘ Midg, Butchers Famous Cameras British Made’. The left side and base both have tripod mounts whilst the right side has a focusing lever and a string controlling the shutter release. The top has a leather handle and a lever for control of the plate changer. A counter runs 1-12, but there are no plates inside the camera. The handle has etched ‘Midg No 1’. There are two viewfinders. The lens is marked ‘Beck Symmetrical Lens’ and has apertures f8-f32. The Lukos II shutter has three speeds to 1/100 plus B and T. A door at the rear of the camera gives access for loading. The inside is stamped ‘D43036’.
