A George III copper Irish half penny dated 1806
Full description
A George III copper Irish half penny dated 1806. The obverse has a right facing King George. Around the edge is the remains of ‘GEORGIUS III.D:G.REX’. The reverse has the remains of the harp and crown and ‘HIBERNIA’ above around the top edge. The date should be at the bottom, but has worn away. The coin was only issued in the one year however. There is an engrailed edge (a patterned groove cut into the edge all around the coin).
