A mahogany, purpleheart, rosewood and parquetry night commode or 'table de nuit', French, circa 1880. Gilt-metal mounted and with breche d'Alep marble top mounted with a three-quarter brass gallery, the sides with parquetry lattice design panels and pull-out slides, the front with a frieze drawer and a tambour shutter door, on square tapering legs terminating in brass sabots.
