Summary
Studio photograph, half length, of a boy, the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, seated on a wooden armchair. He wears a matching dark-coloured jacket and waistoat with lighter bound edges. Dark silk tie, wide white collared shirt and light coloured trousers. Waistcoat fastened with five buttons, jacket unfastened with three visible front buttons and two more buttons visible on his right sleeve. Chain and medallion hang from his third waistcoat button. Blurred background. c.1890 Contained in a mid-brown leather photograph album with gold tooled decoration on the spine and brass/gilt decorative corner pieces and clasp which can be tightened.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
