Caption
Large porcelain object d’art were used to beautify rooms and impress guests. Imari-ware comes from Japan and is usually highly decorative and intricate. Several pieces of Imari porcelain adorn the Adam designed Saloon at Saltram.
Summary
Lid for one of a pair of Imari porcelain vases. The lid is surmounted by blanc de chine figures of girls holding bouquets.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1957 and formed part of the Endowment to NT from Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley.
