Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Clanbrassil (1647 - 1675), attributed to Jacob Huysmans (Antwerp c.1630 – London 1696). A three-quarter-length portrait of the eldest son of James, 1st Earl of Clanbrassil, profile to the left, head facing, wearing armour, left hand forward on helmet. He was Privy Councillor of Charles II, and married Lady Alise Moore, daughter of the first Earl of Drogheda. She was said to have poisoned him in 1675.
