Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Wilson, 10th Lord Berners (1761-1851) by Robert Scott Tait (1816 - 1897), 1841. A half-length portrait of a mature man, the father of the Hon. Charlotte Wilson (1790- 1857), the first child and daughter, who married Abbot Upcher (1784 – 1819) in 1809, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, grey hair, wearing a black coat and waistcoat, white frilled shirt with high collar and black stock. Seated at a desk with his right hand on an open bible. Inscribed on stretcher to Mary Wilson [1795-1874, his fourth child and daughter] from her father 1841.

Mary Wilson (1795-1874), the sitter's fourth child and daughter in 1841; purchased by the National Trust with Sheringham, with grants from the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Countryside Commission, the National Conservancy Council, and several bequests, in 1987
