Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Augustus Henry Vernon, 6th Baron Vernon (1829-1883) by Angiolo Romagnoli (fl.1876-1896), signed and dated: A. Romagnuoli 1884. A three-quarter-length posthumous portrait, turned to the right, gazing to the right, right profile, his left hand resting on books on a table to the right, his right hand by his sude. He has brown hair with long sideburns, and is wearing a black frock, black trousers, and a white shirt. There is a gilt and crimson chair on the left. Married in 1851 to Lady Harriet Anson, 3rd daughter of 1st Earl of Lichfield.

Acquired from 10th Lord Vernon in lieu of death-duties after the death of Francis Lawrence William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon (1889 -1963) and transferred to the National Trust in 1967 through the National Land Fund
