Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Queen Charlotte (of Mecklenburg-Strelitz) (1744-1818) by studio of Sir Joshua Reynolds (Plympton 1723 - London 1792), circa 1779. A full-length portrait in coronation robes, seated, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, her hands on her lap, large red velvet drapes behind her on the right and a red velvet draped table is on the left on which is a taselled cushion.

Acquired from 10th Lord Vernon in lieu of death-duties after the death of Francis Lawrence William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon (1889 -1963) and transferred to the National Trust in 1967 through the National Land Fund
