Summary
A woman's bodice, part of a day dress, made from blue and white silk brocade. The bodice is woven in a mixed vertical stripe and floral motif, with tucking on the bodice centre front from shoulder to waist for shaping. The wide pagoda-style three quarter length sleeves are trimmed on the cuffs with a double layer of silk fringing and a bow. The bodice is fully lined in plain cotton, which also creates a modesty panel centre front, with the sleeves fully lined in beige cotton twill and faced with cream silk taffeta. There are seven boning strips and the bodice fastens centre back with eighteen hooks & eyes, 1 missing.
