Summary
Oil painting on canvas board, The Dining Room Fireplace, Montacute House, Somerset by Frank Moss Bennett (Liverpool 1874 – London 1953), circa 1920-30. Showing the great chimney-piece incorporating a plasterwork panel of the Phelips arms and motto 'Pro aris et focis (For homes and hearths) and topped with a plaster cartouche bearing the head of a woman, which is apparently late 17th century.
