Summary
Dish, maiolica (tin-glazed earthenware), circular shaped with fluted sides and raised central boss, painted in the 'historiato' (story painting) style in cobalt blue, copper green, manganese and yellow (iron oxide) colours, depicting the moment Moses strikes the rock issuing drinking water, the underside is inscribed 'Quando moise fecie uscire lacria del sasso', probably Urbino, Italy, circa 1560; (repaired and foot rim missing).
