Dish, tin-glazed earthenware (maiolica), circular shaped with fluted sides and raised central boss, probably made in Urbino, Italy, circa 1560; painted in colours in the 'istoriato' (story painting) style in cobalt blue, copper green, manganese and yellow (iron oxide) colours, depicting the moment Moses strikes the rock issuing drinking water, the underside is inscribed 'Quando moise fecie uscire lacria del sasso', repaired and foot rim missing).
