Summary
These items comprise of a small circular tea strainer, perforated design to base, moulded leaf handle and raised on foot ring and a dish with matching pattern. They are printed in an underglaze blue with the 'Fisherman' pattern, with associated fleur de lys style and cellular border around inner rim. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by the Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to The National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
