Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Katherine 'Kitty' Hariet Kinloch, Lady Brownlow (d.1952) by Simon Elwes RA (Holthorpe 1902 – London 1975), signed and dated 1939. A three-quarter-length portrait, of a young woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a red velvet jacket, black skirt, hat and muff. Standing in the park at Belton House. She was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir David Alexander Kinloch of Gilmerton, 11th Baronet Kinloch (1856-1944) and Elinor Lucy Bromley Davenport (d.1943). She married on 18th October 1927, as his first wife, Sir Peregrine Francis Adelbert Cust, 6th Baron Brownlow of Belton (1899-1978).
