Oil painting on canvas (oval), An Unknown Gentleman, British (English) School, circa 1700. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a young gentleman, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a full-bottomed brown wig. A label on the rear of the painting gives the provenance.
