Summary
Photograph NO. 32. LAT. 79° 32’ N. THE “DISCOVERY” CUTTING A DOCK IN DOBBIN BAY. Black and white albumin photograph mounted on card. Mount has handwritten ‘32’ at top, and ‘London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company, 110 and 108, Regent Street, and 54, Cheapside.’ printed near bottom. Large ship in centre on photograph facing away from the photographer. Much covering water surrounding it. Many members of the ship’s crew can be seen in the foreground on the left of the photograph, and behind the ship in the distance, both groups huddled around tripod structures. In the foreground there is a flagpole on the left, and equipment resting on the snow to the right. The photo is dated with a handwritten inscription on the bottom right ’13.8.75’.
