Summary
A cream-painted and parcel gilt mahogany box night commode or close stool, English, circa 1870. The hinged top opening to reveal a fitted seat with circular lid over a white ceramic bowl, a brass flush mechanism with pull cord and ivory handle (missing) to the front corner and foldaway arms for support, the box panelled and standing on flattened bun feet.
