Summary
A joined oak and inlaid court cupboard, English, 2nd quarter of 17th century. With a rectangular top and fruitwood inlaid frieze above a central panel with ebonized geometric strapwork inlay and an applied leopards head, flanked by a pair of paneled cupboard doors with similar inlay and applied scroll carved quatreform detail with four leaf carved pilasters. The paneled sides with further inlaid strapwork. The lower section with a single frieze drawer carved with repeating C scroll and stylized floral decoration, continuing to the sides raised on cup and cover carved baluster supports joining a shelf stretcher with guilloche carved front rail. The feet with later additions.

Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940)
