Oil painting on canvas (oval), Sir Richard Carew, 4th Bt (1683 - 1703), British (English) School, previously circle of John Closterman (Osnabrück 1660 – London 1711), circa 1700. Half-length portrait wearing a red cloak. Sir Richard Carew, 4th Bt. was baptised on 2 March 1683 at Antony, Cornwall. He was the eldest surviving son of Sir John Carew, 3rd Bt. and Mary Morice and brother of the 5th Baronet, the builder of Antony House .He died 1703, unmarried.
