Apparently a school prize book from Uppingham School, Rutland. Binding: Brown leather binding over boards, repaired, spine re-attached; gold lettering on red spine label, ornaments, raised bands, gilt patterns on borders and turn-ins. On front cover is gilt oval with illustrations and legend: 'In Okeham et Uppingham in Com. Ruti. Sic Com Gubern Scholar et Hospiciorum' denoting Oakham and Uppingham Schools. Marbled edges. Former public library classmark stamped on spine: 824.8 BAC.
