Shelved and uniform with two other volumes of collected plates by Jean Le Pautre, Pierre Lepautre, Jean Marot and others. Provenance: manuscript inscription on front fly-leaf: "104. Plates. Recueil des portes, &c &c." [i.e. count of the leaves of plates and catalogue entry note, written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript code in pencil on front fly-leaf: "1:D:7". Binding: late seventeenth or early eighteenth-century full mottled calf; sewn onto five raised bands; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine; gilt title 'Fontain detarin portres chemines de table' on brown sheepskin label and rest of title 'du ateli pareile deglise trophée cartouch' and author statement 'De Marot Le Pautre pere & autres' lettered direcly on spine. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
