Summary
Newspaper cutting from 'The Daily Mail AUGUST 9, 1923.', the cutting has been taken to include the newspaper and date. 'DRUIDS TEMPLE SITE. WIRELESS STATION PLAN MAY BE DROPPED. The proposal to erect a wireless trans- mitting station at Avebury, Wiltshire, where there are Druidical remains, is likely to be abandoned. The station was intended to form a link in the Imperial wireless chain, but the proposal aroused a storm of protest and the matter was referred to the Ancient Monuments Department of the Office of Works....'.
