[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Armorial bookplate on verso of title page, partially torn off, some details still visible: arms argent a double-headed eagle displayed sable a border of the second bezantée, helm and mantling, lion crest, surviving text 'Sr: Pe... Arwen... Knigh[t]...'; identified as the bookplate (Franks 17142) of Sir Peter Killigrew (1634-1705) of Arwenack in Cornwall. Binding: eighteenth-century calf; double gilt fillet border; blind roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine, with gilt title. Marbled edges.
