Running number: 1312. Bound volume of 7 pamphlets on politics, religion, and astrology; scraps of eighteenth-century paper inserted as bookmarks between pamphlets. Provenance: library of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) of Nocton, Lincolnshire. Manuscript inscription on front pastedown in hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys: "5th pamphlet, all torn & Impf.". Eighteenth-century(?) inscriptions on lower pastedown and endleaf: (1) pen trails; (2) "Robert Reynolds"; (3) "Chris". Binding: early eighteenth-century sprinkled calf over boards; double blind fillet border, blind ruled and tooled central panel with blind-stamped fleuron cornerpieces. Blind roll pattern along board edges. Four raised bands; spine undecorated. Sewn on four supports, laced in. Two colour endbands with front beads; wants tailband. Pastedown on front inner board; pastedown and endleaf at end.
