Summary
Figure, hard paste porcelain, standing on a square base, depicting a young man emblematic of Winter, he holds a large muff, wearing breeches, buckled shoes, a tall brimmed hat and a shirt with a large ruffle, Doccia Porcelain Factory, Venice, ca 1780; decorated in naturalistic colours with overglaze enamels and coloured glazes, the coat purple, the muff pink, breeches blue, and the hat and shoes in black, the base is painted in imitation of marble.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
