Painting. An oil painting on canvas, Groom with Hunter in the Stables by James Flewitt Mullock (Newport 1818 - Newport 1892), 1851. A groom dressed in his best livery, with striped jacket, he stands to the left of a chestnut horse, facing to the left, with tack hanging on the stall to the right
Provenance
Bonhams Knightsbridge, Victorian and 19th Century Continental Paintings, 28.6.1999, lot 66. Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
