Kodascope Model A cine projector.
Full description
A Kodascope Model A cine projector, constructed of black metal consists of a heavy base on the right side of which is a lever that can be moved between "slow" and "fast". Behind that is a switch (with no markings). To the rear is a circular ampere meter, showing 1-5 Amperes (Markings: "Made in the USA for Eastman Kodak Co. Rochester N.Y. AC-DC. Type BA"). Above the ampere meter, 2 wires protrude attached to a light screw electrical fitting. (This would attach to the lighting fitting, which is missing). On the right hand side of the base, wires protude to be connected to the mains electrical supply. At the front is black plastic knurled levelling knob. At the front of the body is a fixed film reel holder, with a white directional arrow stamped on top of it and a reel locking device inside it. It is powered by a wire belt, which runs into the body of the projector. At its rear are 2 rollers to guide the film. This would pass to a sprocket, at the base of the lens housing, which can be manually adjusted by a black plastic knurled knob. Above this on the lens housing is a silver metal knurled knob. This is topped by another film sprocket. This would guide the film to the film gate that is at the rear of the lens housing. (Markings: In white on a black metal plaque on the side, " Kodascope. Made in the USA by Eastman Kodak Co. Rochester N.Y. Serial No 01531" At the bottom of the plaque is an additional number, "19725"). Along side the fixed film reel holder, at the front, is a small cylindrical shaped external electrical motor. (Markings: In white on a black metal plaque on the top, "AC Motor, NP 21163. Model No 26774. When ordering parts give model No. Cyc60, FR300, HP 1/100, Type SDA, RPM 4400, AV110, No LA. GE Co USA"). Attached to the motor, on the left hand side of the lens housing, is a rheostat, encased in a perforated metal cage. This is controlled by a black plastic knurled knob to the rear. (Markings: In white on a black metal plaque at its base, Cutler-Hammer Rheostat, 115 Volts 4 Amps, Code 60E113. Made in the USA for Eastman Kodak Co. Rochester N.Y. 23015").
