Summary
Miniature black & gold lacquer bedroom suite in Chinese style comprehending a bed, a cupboard, a chest of drawers and a tallboy. The furniture is made of cardboard covered with black glossy paper with Chinese motifs representing pagodas, exotic plants and stylised figures in traditional costume. They look like Victorian papier mâché furniture.

This style of dollhouse furniture whose decoration was made using printed paper like this and transfers looks similar to the Boulle style dollhouse furniture made by the Schneegas company, manufacturer of dollhouse furniture from the 1840s to early 20th c in Waltershausen, Germany.
