Summary
Tempera painting and ink on linen, probably African. Depicting a figure in a white cloak, raised higher than eleven others who have formed a circle around him, addressing them with outstretched arms. Those around him are clothed in yellow, orange or white robes, upon a blue and grey washed background. Mounted on a pine frame stretcher to the reverse, with staples. The stretcher centred with a brass pin to the reverse strung with a short loop of string for suspension.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache (1935 - 2006); acquired fully in November 2010.
