Summary
A ceramic pitcher decorated with copper lustre and green foliage with pink flowers on a cream ground. A band of copper lustre runs around the base, neck and rim. It is a bulbous shape with rope twist handle.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
To the underside: A maker’s mark depicting a galleon in black on a yellow ground with green sea. Above is written “HAND-PAINTED” and beneath the words: “GRAY’S POTTERY / MADE IN / STOKE-ON-TRENT. / ENGLAND”
