Summary
Marble, The Rt. Hon. William Windham III MP (1750-1810), by Sebastian Gahagan (1779-1838), after Joseph Nollekens (London 1737 - 1823), signed and dated 1821. A marble portrait bust of William Windham III, turned to the right, in classical robes. A copy by Sebastian Gahagan of an original bust by Joseph Nollekens, Gahagan's former master. Nollekens' bust forms part of Windham's funerary monument erected in 1813 in Felbrigg Church (for the original design see acc.no. E.4384-1920, Victoria & Albert Museum, London; see also Government Art Collection,16045).
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
