Summary
One of a pair of Chippendale period rectangular bevelled plated wall glasses, the giltwood frames carved with scrolls, foliage and other rococo motifs and with typical high crestings. May be attributed to John Bladwell.
Full description
The bevelled glass plate was replaced by Lady Meade-Fetherstonhaugh in 1933. the glass in 137969.1 is original. En suite with the examples in the Prince Regent's Room, Tapestry Bedroom (1st Floor) and a second floor bedroom. Thus a set of five.
Provenance
Acquired by the National Trust with the help of a grant from the Purchase Grant Fund, 1978.
