Summary
Part of an afternoon dress; Bodice - Mid brown grosgrain silk trimmed afternoon / evening dress with white bobbin lace and machine embroidered braid. Bodice; elbow length sleeves, lace ruching, braiding and two buttons. Guimpe of machine net with chemical lace embroidery, collar lined in cream silk chiffon and edged in pink, blue and green ribbon. Three ribbon bows centre front guimpe. Bodice has buttons at centre front flanked by ruching, panels extending from shoulders forming epaulettes and meeting in a V at centre back. Waistband attached to bodice is folded into pleats. 1800 - 1850 (circa)
