Summary
A carved oak cheval fire screen, Gothic Revival, English, circa 1838. The flat lancet-arched shaped screen with carved toprail and central finial, and lined with needlework of a church window, and a coat of arms of Throckmorton quartered with Yate. The bottom edge of the needlework stitched with the words 'Isabella Acton...1838'. The screen raised on finial-topped end supports on spreading feet fitted with castors.
