Summary
Jacket; Riding jacket - Corded silk with brocaded design of flower sprays and garlands. Pinks, yellow, blue, green, white and black on brick red ground. Lined throughout in heavy bleached linen. Close fitting, no waist seam, short flared skirt. Edge to edge front opening, 'v' neck, lappet below waist. No underarm seam. Back in 2 sections running into large rounded flaps. Sleeves long and shaped, turned back cuffs. Three hand worked buttons on each cuff with silk cord loops and tassels. Evidence of pinning on front. A good early fabric made up later into a riding jacket. Possibly made for travelling rather than riding. Anne Buck - ?Continental. (female)
