Lead spout - square back plate decorated with scrollwork border with two flowers on either side and inscription ''INVIDA AETAS''. Charles Wade refers to this item in his notebook 'Haphazard Notes Volume 2' 'CAST LEAD SPOUT to lower cistern inscribed INVIDA AETAS (devouring age) Virgil ‘Omnia fert aetar’. Age bears all away'. (page 113)
