Summary
A giltwood and painted Tabernacle with two angels drawing back curtains to reveal a central door with a relief urn surrounded by rays. Purple & gold patterned textile on inside, gilded and partly painted blue. In notebook no.1, page 65(1340945.1) Charles Wade refers to: 'Meridian after 12. A Tabernacle from Sicily, of carved wood with gold on gesso & partly painted blue. The Pilasters stand free. 2 ½” '. Includes sketch
