Summary
Suit of samurai armour, Japanese, consisting of a helmet (kabuto) with a neck guard (shikoro) turned back at the front (fukikaeshi), a half mask (menpō) with attached throat guard (nodowa), shoulder guards (sode), sleeves (kote), a cuirass (dō), thigh guards (haidate) and shin guards (suneate).

Charles Wade notebook 1340945.3 (SNO.MISC.959.3), p. 94: ‘Suit of Armour. Helmet in one piece. The whole suit of plain black lacquer. apron of chain. body horizontal plates a short sword with KUDZUKA. in red & black lacquer sheath. Mask. fr. Cheltenham.'
