Summary
Three quarter length steel suit of armour consisting of one open helmet with high comb, plume socket and hinged cheek pieces with circular perforations from circa 1550. CPW Item number 167 (Dragon). Breastplate with pointed front is engraved with a crucifix and kneeling knight. One pair of riveted armlets and a pair of upper leg protection plates. CPW Item number 163 (Dragon). 'Three quarter length suit of German armour, breastplate engraved with crucifix and a Knight kneeling, open helmet of ogee form, circa 1540 - Nuremberg. From the Brett Collection' (M. Jessup). Ferrous metal.
