Summary
A marquetry "table ambulante", French, circa 1790, the rectangular top inset with red leather within a three-quarter pierced gallery, above a frieze with inlaid with guilloche and opening with a drawer; the two drawers below with trellis parquetry on tulipwood veneer, on square-section tapering legs joined by a square undertier.
Provenance
The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943. This item found on the record for Polesden Lacey Mrs Greville's Bedroom, page 45.
